I just love palominos. Anyway, this is my first shot at a colored drawing (my mom suggested that I color it when she saw me working on it) and I have to admit I can bear to look at it without cringing. Obviously my pencils weren't the best quality but....oh well. Critique please, I want to get better at this.
I realize there are visible smudges, my apologies, I'm used to being able to erase such errors but colored pencils are a different story I've discovered. lol
I like it! The motion, as well as the colors are great! My only suggestion would be to go very slowly with colored pencils, and layer, layer, layer! It takes a while, but it's worth it!
this one is soooooo good! Best yet. great depth and proportion.

I like it very much! But maybe you should work on your shading a little more. Even crappy colored pencils can go a long way when you know how to use them; try combining colors to create new techniques of shading, for example, shadows aren't just black and gray, they're blue and purple and green as well... these colors create more depth as well if you use them right. Find some pictures of horses and study the shadows cast on their bodies from different angles of light. Good luck! And nice work!

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
